The Red Coat

Hey guys!

I had so many compliments/questions I decided to do a blog post on my early christmas gift I packed for our trip to Glasgow at the end of November. See the first part of blog post about that trip here

It was an icy, cold morning but with beautiful winter sunshine, the pavements were a tad slippery in places but we had time to kill before our lunch booking.  So I asked Garry to take a few snaps of me wearing my early Christmas gift from my Mama D. Garry, who hates taking photos of me as i am never happy with them, actually did not a bad job. The sun made not squinting hard and with a few odd looks we got some not bad pics.

This beaut of an early Christmas gift was my red faux leather/fur coat from Bershka. It is such good quality and looks way more expensive than the £60 it cost. The inside is fully lined in faux fur, even the sleeves. I have worn zipped up but I love it unzipped and it still keeps me cosy.  I nearly slid on my arse a few times at the gates to Kelvingrove Park, but got a shot with no one around as it was quiet, so luckily no one spied that haha. How beautiful is this gate though?

I don’t know what it is but i have a thing for photographing gates, something you might have noticed if you have seen some of my road trip posts on Instagram .

Yes there is me squinting on someone’s fancy front doorstep…with some direction from me and quite a few photos later Garry did good on the photo front.  During this I was envisaging the owner of the house coming out and asking what the hell we were doing!

I have had so many compliments with this jacket…even random lovely folk when we were in Glasgow stopping to say they loved my jacket and even my makeup. I think that is such a nice thing to do, even if it’s a stranger, because that really made my day.

As i said the quality is spot on, the zips are chunky and sturdy, the finishing is great and one thing that made me pick this is it doesn’t have a belt around the bottom that so many of these aviator style jackets have. They annoy me flapping about when untied and for me personally don’t look good on me when fully tied.

I teamed it with some faux leather platform trainers from New Look, distressed faded jeans from F & F, a plain black tee, Long Champ Bag and a one of a kind semi-precious Quartz necklace from my own brand Lark & Lily Designs . A coat like this doesn’t need much styling and as we were out for the whole day I needed comfort too so this outfit was perfect.

This was going to be the part 2 of the Glasgow trip post but i felt this jacket needed its own post as it is so fab right? Do you love it as much as me?
