GlamGlow Mask Review

It is Friday night, I am knackered after a busy week and my skin is feeling greasy and yuck. I then remembered about the wee tube of GlamGlow’s Powermud dual cleanse treatment. I was sent this a few months ago but have been so busy I haven’t had a chance to use it, until now.

Glam Glow Powermud

This mask is a duo product, a lightweight mud mask that then turns into an oil cleanser when water is added to your face. GlamGlow state that it will cleanse, nourish, purify, detoxify and renew skin. It is paraben free, suitable for all skin types, men or woman and contains velvet leaf.

I was delighted to be sent something as I have always wanted to try out their products. Spying a lot of their masks being used by fellow bloggers online and always given great reviews so I had high expectations.

I cleansed my skin and made sure it was dry as instructed on the reverse of the tube. I wasn’t sure what the texture or colour would be like. When I first squeezed some out of the tube it definitely had that clay looking greyish green colour and smelled fresh. I made sure my hands were clean before I applied a thin layer to my face, avoiding my delicate eye area. It was advised on the instructions to leave on for 5-10 minutes but as my skin was in dire need of some tlc I left it on for the full 10 minutes.  It tightens as it dries, which you expect from a clay style mask so I knew the ten minutes were up as my whole face was stiff.

How it looks when dried after the 10 mins

I wet my hands with warm water and started gently massaging my face, turning the mask into an oil like texture, a bit clever that eh?

I worked it into my face for a few minutes and could feel the wee exfoliator bits getting to work. I rinsed my face with clean warm water and felt my skin refreshed, clean and I felt relaxed. I then used a toner and a moisturiser to finish off.

My face feels soft and skin felt a wee bit tighter and there is enough in the tube for 2-3 applications. It is recommended by Glam Glow to use this mask style cleanser once or twice a week. I have combination skin, my t-zone and chin gets oily, so this product is great for that. I have seen my skin in the morning sometimes get wee white heads appearing in the spring/summer months, even after properly cleansing with micellar water at night, using toner, eye cream and moisturiser.

Fresh & pampered

After the first use I did get a few wee spots appearing but from my own experience this is my skin purging after using a new product and goes away shortly after. I used this once a week for three weeks as that was the amount I got from the sample sized tube. It did make my skin feel soft, renewed and clearer.

I have found this mask at £42 on Feel Unique, Boots, ASOS, GlamGlow website and Debenhams for a 50g tub. There is a smaller 15g size for £16 from Boots and the GlamGlow website.

I love their packaging and feel it has a modern and luxurious look and think this is something I will add to my skincare routine now I have tried it. I have my eye on a few other masks and their Volcasmic moisturiser is on the list to try too.

Have you any recommendations for me from GlamGlow? I would love to know in the comments below!

As stated at the start of this review I was gifted this mask by Glam Glow but the review is my own opinion after using the mask on my own skin.
